The waterproof system with a screw back case was designed and used for dress watches to make them a little bit more sporty, the central seconds are also a feature becoming more demanded during these days.
What makes this early Audemars Piguet extremely rare is the caliber used for this particular watch. The movement running inside is a Valjoux VZASC . The Valjoux VZ Movements are extremely rare and where found back then in the most precious and valuable timepieces. The movement was also one of the inspirations behind the movement inside the Philippe Dufour Simplicity.
Furthermore the Japanese master watchmaker Yusuke Kikuchi recently finished his first watch, the ‘Alpha’ also featuring this very special movement.
This Audemars Piguet wristwatch could be considered as a piece of perfect simplicity housing one of the greatest movements of all times in a fabulous high end gold watch case.
