Description
Vintage Steel chronograph ‘valjoux 13’
vintage steel chronograph in outstanding condition. The diameter of the case is 37.2mm and has been fully made of steel. The caseback is signed ‘staybrite’ a metal used by many watch manufacturers like Patek, Omega and Longines. This example is signed G.J. on the dial which was a small Swiss watch brand back in the 1940’s
The movement running inside is pretty rare. It’s a Valjoux 13′ based movement which is modified by the maker of the watch to work with a single button. The mechanism is working very smooth and the overall quality of the watch is outstanding. It’s very clear the maker of this watch has spend many time in developing the watch. The rare early valjoux 13′ movement’s also found in few chronograph watches from the 1940’s era. Other brands using this caliber for their base movements are Vacheron and Audermars Piguet.
