Description

Blancpain Villeret Perpetual Calendar Moonphase

Blancpain Villeret Perpetual Calendar wristwatch in yellow gold with a Moonphase and full calendar. The Perpetual Calendar movement automatically changes the date, week, month of the watch taking notice of the months with more or less days. It changes date from the 28th of February to the first of march automatically. Technically spoken this is an extremely complex feature or high end complication for a wristwatch.

Blancpain Villeret

The blancpain Villeret is a classic gents watch with a decent 34mm case size. This model belongs to a series of complicated watch by Blancpain from the 1990’s, the so called ‘Six Masterpieces of the watchmakers art;. Among those rare watches is a minute repeater, split second chronograph and this rare Perpetual Calendar wristwatch. The watch is powered by the automatic caliber 5453. The beautiful shaped yellow gold case is a piece of art on itself. Worth noting is that the case is made by Jean-Pierre Hagmann, the famous Geneva case maker who worked for Patek Philippe (the ref 2499), Vacheron and Blancpain. He also worked for the famous bracelet manufacturer Gay-Frères and is currently working for high end Swiss watchmakers brand Akrivia. Read more about Jean Pierre Hagmann here.
