Gübelin 18k white gold ‘dresswatch’
Very rare vintage dress watch with a charming dial set with baguette and round cut diamonds. The watch is made of solid 18k white gold and it is featured with a waterproof Spillmann watch case with screwed octagonal caseback. The firm C R Spillmann was also supplier for watch brands as; Vacheron, Rolex and other high end brands.
Gübelin is well known as a Swiss Jewelry house and exclusive watch dealer for brands as Patek Philippe. They are also one of the world leaders in gem stone expertise. There are several Patek Philippe watches known with the ‘Gübelin’ signature on the dial. This watch is branded by Gübelin itself and does remind to the first automatic Patek Philippe ref 2526 with decentral second hand. Of course this watch is no Patek Philippe but it’s from the same era with a very similar look and high-end automatic movement, furthermore this Gübelin branded watch is only made in a small series of 10 watches, if this series contained another diamond set example is unknown but we can consider the watch to be very rare and possibly unique with this dial

the movement
The movement inside this very rare Gübelin watch is based on a Felsa 690/692 movement. The movement has been fully upgraded by Gübelin in a spectacular way.

To find a high-end vintage Patek, Heuer or Lecoultre is difficult, finding a high-end vintage Gübelin branded watch is almost impossible and there is very little know about these elegant timepieces made in limited very series . That a white gold Gübelin watch is a good investment has been proven at the Phillips watch auction in May 2017 where a white gold Gübelin chronograph with an estimate of 20k-40k Swiss Franc sold for the extraordinary amount of 137.500,- Swiss franc.
