Rolex prince ref 1541 yellow gold doctors watch from the mid 1930’s
Rolex Prince ref 1541 gentlemens wristwatch in immaculate condition. Dating back to the 1930’s the Rolex Prince was originally designed as a doctors watch. The movement is developed by Aegler and Rolex and this particular movement has been considered as one of the top notch movements from the begin days of the Rolex watch company.
The watch is made out of 9ct gold. The dimensions are 20mm by 35mm, a very classic gents size. It has a gold two-tone dial in full original condition, a true piece of art. The hands have no lumious material which most likely is the reason the dial remains in such pristine condition as radium (used for the lumious compound) hurts the dial over the years.
Rolex Gruen & Aegler
The prince movement was developed by Rolex and Aegler. Rolex was not the only company who produced this doctors watch, the same movement has been used by Alpina-Gruen who shared the same movement factory back in the days. We have this Alpina for sale here, and its definitely worth to have a look since both watches are extremely rare.
