An exceptional example of one of the most iconic waterproof vintage Patek Philippe wristwatches: the reference 565 in stainless steel, dating from 1946, housed in a robust FB (Francois Borgel) case and measuring a perfectly balanced 35mm.
This rare specimen comes directly from the family of the original owner and is accompanied by original service receipts, including work performed by the renowned Dutch jeweler Bonenbakker, known for its long-standing relationship with high-end clientele. The most recent service took place in 2002, and the watch has been exceptionally well preserved ever since. It has an amazing Grené finished dial with applied numbers and enamel lacquered graphics. Furthermore its case remains minimally polished and the movement has only been worked on by the best mechanics.
Patek 565 ‘Grené Dial’
What sets this particular 565 apart is its stunning grené dial — a rare finely textured surface that radiates warmth and depth. The dial remains in remarkable condition, with crisp printing, white gold hands and an eye-catching blued seconds hand in the subsidiary dial at six o’clock. The layout is timeless and clean, with applied Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12, and a classic black enamel signature that echoes Patek’s refined design language of the 1940s.
Steel waterproof Fb case 35mm
The FB case, known for its water-resistant construction, retains its original shape and finishing — with sharp edges, thick lugs, and the hallmark robustness that made reference 565 one of Patek’s most wearable vintage watches. Whether as part of a serious collection or as a daily-wearer for the discerning enthusiast, this reference checks every box.
