Rolex 6609 turn o graph from 1957 with a beautiful gilt dial which turned into a brown tropical color. The dial has an applied Rolex signature and gilt writing, the writing ‘Officially certified chronometer’ is only visible in certain light. The dial color is truly fascinating. The Rolex Turn o Graph ref 6609 from the 1950’s is also referred to as the Rolex Thunderbird, read about it here. The Rolex 6609 is a rare datejust model, the rotating bezel in gold gives the watch a sporty feeling. Compared to the prices for 1950’s Submariner watches the turn o graph watches from the 1950’s are still ‘affordable’. To find one in the condition like we offer here is rare.

Condition

The watch remains in full original condition, it has been sold in singapore in December 1957, the big logo jubilee bracelet dates back to 1958 and has most probably been bought at a later stage by the first owner, the clasp bears the initials ‘RL’. Of course the beautiful Gilt dial makes this Rolex Turnograph a true stunner, the originally black lacquered dial turned into an amazing tropical brown color. The watch looks extremely good on a leather strap, for buyers interested in the watch on a leather strap we can give 10.000€ discount. Box and documents

This Rolex 6609 comes with its original guarantee document from 1957. The watch has been sold in Singapore. Furthermore the watch comes with a very special jubilee box, made out of Marrocain leather with an 18k gold crown. Accompanied with a note that Cigarette’s can be stored in the box after.
